As a Senior Product Designer at Gopuff, , I led the redesign of the homepage theme, loading animation, and post-order experience for St. Patrick’s Day events. This initiative aimed to create a festive and engaging user experience while driving attention to our 25-cent Guinness promotion. I worked closely with engineers, the brand strategy team, and the merchandising team to ensure the designs aligned with brand goals and seamlessly integrated with the platform.
Concept
The concept was to promote 25-cent Guinness sales throughout the app experience with a cohesive and festive design. Inspired by key St. Patrick’s Day symbols, I created a playful theme featuring a Guinness can popping out of a leprechaun hat, representing the celebratory spirit of the holiday. Clovers were incorporated into the homepage design to reinforce the festive mood, tying the overall concept together while maintaining visual consistency across the app experience.
Key Design Elements
01. Loading Animation
The loading animation was designed to capture users’ attention and highlight the 25-cent Guinness promotion in a fun and engaging way. Building on the St. Patrick’s Day theme, the animation featured a dynamic sequence where a Guinness can pops out of a leprechaun hat, surrounded by playful gold coins. This eye-catching design not only reinforced the festive concept but also ensured the promotion was front and center, grabbing users’ attention during a moment of transition and enhancing the overall app experience.
02. Homepage Theme
For St. Patrick’s Day, I established green as the primary color theme, opting for a gradient (darker at the top) to ensure readability and WCAG compliance with the white typeface used for delivery information. To maintain a cohesive festive look, I updated the header, bottom navigation icons, circular navigation, and carousel backgrounds, creating a consistent and engaging user experience.
03. Post Order Experience
I redesigned the post-order experience to allow customers to track their driver after placing an order. To align with the St. Patrick's Day leprechaun hat delivery theme, I replaced the driver icon with a playful leprechaun hat icon, reinforcing the event's festive spirit and collaborating with the Brand team to create a cohesive experience for that specific day.
